I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work as a team to educate your child at Wildwood Elementary School this year!  Here are some fun facts about me:  I graduated from Southern Illinois University Carbondale with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education in 2001. In addition, I'm a McKendree University alumni, where I earned my master’s degree in Educational Administration in 2009. I am certified to teach kindergarten through sixth grade students, English as a Second Language Learners, and Gifted & Talented Students in the state of Texas. My classroom experiences have been teaching second grade, third grade, fourth grade, and teaching kindergarten through sixth grade students with Special Education & behavioral needs as a Reading Title I Teaching Assistant.
In my spare time, I enjoy watching my husband coach football at Willow Wood Junior High School, where he also teaches eighth grade Science. This year will be extra special because my son, Aiden, joins the Wildcat Football team!  I love trips to the beach with my family, reading, painting, and making creative projects with my daughter, Makenzie.

Weekly Take Home Reading Book Bags

Students were sent home with their independent reading leveled book today in a plastic bag.  At home students are expected to read the book and complete one of the following activities:  a summary, write a letter to the author, complete a book review, or a create their own activity from the list provided.  Examples of all options have also been sent home in their Take Home Reading Bag. This activity counts for the students 20 minutes of nightly reading. Bags are to be returned by Friday of each week with their completed homework activity inside the bag.  New stories will be sent home on Tuesday of each week.  If a student's bag is not returned he/she will not be given a new book for the following week and it will count as one late/missing assignment.
