Welcome to First Grade! My name is Lara Davis and I am so excited to be your child's first grade teacher this year at Wildwood Elementary. First grade is such an important year and sets the foundation of a child’s academic development. It is amazing how much your child will grow and learn this year.
This is my seventh year teaching first grade and my third year teaching in Tomball ISD. I live in Tomball with my husband and our cute puppy dog, Mollie. I have a Bachelors Degree from Texas A&M University and I love my Aggies, whoop! I am certified to teach PK through 6th grade and am also certified to teach English as a Second Language and Gifted and Talented students.
When I'm not working I love to travel with my husband. We take a fun trip each summer and most recently have visited Europe. I also enjoy playing with my dog, Mollie, crafting, especially creating scrapbooks and painting so you might run into me at Hobby Lobby.
As a teacher, I love getting to know my students and inspiring in them a love of learning. I especially love teaching children to read and become life long readers! We will be reading some amazing books this year in first grade and learning to become excellent authors too!
If you ever have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me by email at LaraDavis@tomballisd.net
I look forward to working together to make this a great school year!
Lara Davis

Math Practice

We will have a math test on Friday over place value 1-30. Students should be able to draw a number using base ten blocks, write the number in standard form (just the number), identify how many tens and how many ones, expand the number ( value of tens + value of ones = number ex 20+2=22) and locate numbers on a number line. Pearson online math textbook topic 8 practice and practice test could be helpful. A review will also be coming home with your student tomorrow. Thank you! Mrs. Davis
