Welcome to the 2020 - 2021 school year and the Dyslexia Intervention program at Wildwood Elementary School. My hope is that you find comfort knowing your child will receive specialized programming to help them overcome their decoding, spelling, and reading difficulties. My classroom environment is built on love, grace, and the expectation that you try. This is all done in a safe, caring, and fun environment. I will push your child to try new and difficult strategies to help decipher the code that is reading, but always with love and compassion.
Let me introduce myself to help both you and your child become familiar with their new teacher. I have been an educator for eleven years. This is my fifth as a Dyslexia Intervention teacher. Prior to joining Wildwood Elementary, I was a Dyslexia Intervention teacher in Katy ISD. I have previously taught first, second, and third grades. I am a transplant to Texas from northern Indiana but have lived here 21 years and consider myself southern blessed! I graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with both my undergraduate degree and my M.Ed in Educational Leadership. When I am not at Wildwood, you can find me shuttling my four children, ages 4-10, around Cypress to their various activities.
I can't wait to partner with you and your child to build their success and love of reading.
