About Me

Welcome to Second Grade! I am so excited to be your child’s teacher this year!
I have been teaching for 18 years. I have taught first grade and second grade. Second grade is my very favorite.   I love to watch children make the leap from beginning readers to bibliophiles for life!

I am originally from Michigan. I graduated from Western Michigan University in 1995 where I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in education, with minors in math and science. I moved to Texas that same year and started my teaching career in Fort Bend ISD.  I stayed home for several years with my children when they were young.   We moved to Frisco, Texas in 2007 and I have been teaching in Little Elm ISD ever since.   Most recently I have worked at Prestwick STEM Academy in Little Elm ISD.   We just moved to the Tomball area last July.   I hold certificates in general education, life science, special education and ESL.

My husband Jay and I will celebrate our 21st wedding anniversary this November.   We are the proud parents of four great kids!   Our oldest is a student at Texas Tech University.   Our other three children will be starting in Tomball ISD!   We also have two crazy dogs named Lewis and Clark.   They keep our life interesting!
I look forward to working together to make this a successful school year.
